Dear Families,
Wow, what an amazing week we had! We enjoyed celebrating the 50th day of school. The students had fun writing about what they planned on doing when they are 50 years old. They practiced writing their numbers to 50 and writing math equations that equal 50 as well. We also had a fabulous fifties sock hop! Ask your children what they enjoyed about 50’s Day!
Behaviors at School
We have been working hard to show the cougar 5 at school. When students show this behavior, they earn cougar paws to use at our Cougar Paw Store.

With the upcoming trimester, if students are struggling to show the Cougar 5 expected behaviors and receiving multiple reminders throughout the day, they will reflect with the teacher and discuss how important it is to show the Cougar 5. When students reflect with a teacher they will complete a think sheet to guide the conversation. Should you see this note come home please continue the conversation with your child. Musical Instrument!
As a culmination of our science unit on light and sound, we are asking each child to make a musical instrument at home to create a class band. Your child can make their instrument out of recycled materials you have at home. We ask that students complete most of the project independently and are able to explain how their instrument was created and how their instrument makes sound. Instruments are due on Friday, November 14th. We appreciate your help and support. Here are two examples (example 1 and example 2) of what students can make.
Recess
Please send your child with coats and sweatshirts to keep them warm at recess. We try to go outside every day and we want to make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
